Celebrities Go One Step Beyond
Celebrities including Elton John, Daniel Radcliffe, Andy Murray, Graham Norton and Stephen Fry have gone One Step Beyond to help out charities.
Do you fancy struttin’ your stuff in an original pair of Elton’s stage shoes?
Would Andy Murray’s tennis trainers give you added “balls” on court? Or do
Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter shoes bring out the magic in you?
Whatever your shoe fetish, One Step Beyond has the answer. The Campaign has already brought in thousands of pounds for No More Landmines and three other charities by creating the world’s longest line of shoes in June 2007, donating over 20,000 pairs of shoes which were then distributed to charities in Asia and Africa.
Now we’re kicking the fundraising into the stratosphere by auctioning off 19 pairs of celebrity shoes on EBay from midday Friday 10 October 2008, bidding ends at midday on Sunday 19 October 2008.The shoes up for auction include:
- Elton John's stage shoes
- Andy Murray's trainers
- Ewan McGregor's trainers
- Daniel Radcliffe/Harry Potter's school shoes
- Jo Brand's deck shoes
- Emma Thompson's Jimmy Choos
- Christian Dailly's football boots
- Steven Pressley's football boots
- Barry Ferguson's football boots
- Robin William's trainers
- Tamzin Outhwaite's black strappy sandals
- Graham Norton's Versace shoes
- Lorraine Kelly's tartan courts
- Kirsty Wark's boots
- Zoe Wanamaker's boots
- Phil Cunningham's trainers
- Carole Smilie's Kurt Geiger mules
- Stephen Fry's monster slippers
- Kaye Adam's shoes
The shoes are being sold with letters of authentication.
With an estimated 100 million landmines hidden in the ground around the world this global crisis sees an innocent civilian killed or injured every 30 minutes of every day. One third of these are children. Yet is costs just £1 to clear a square metre of mine-contaminated land. This auction really could mean the difference between life and death.
So why not put your money where your feet are, raise money for charity…and start bidding NOW!
